What's Left to do for Update 2


To start off with, here's what has been finished so far.

New Content:

  • Lighting!
  • Revamped save system with more slots and ability to delete saves.
  • Save points heal Saul on entry. No need to save.
  • Lots of Cyberskull Factory to explore including a new demo end zone.
  • Two cyborg enemies.
  • The fire area is much larger.
  • Two fire themed enemies.

Completed Fixes:

  • Player no longer jitters when walking into walls
  • A bunch of zips in various places fixed (this wasn't in the original update plan)
  • Player now slides down steep slopes
  • Player can go back to air dash item without softlocking if they skip it
  • Subtle background graphic artifacts fixed

That looks pretty close to the original plan for Update 2 eh? So everything is done and we're just days away from completion? Not so much. Unfortunately due to being way too vague in defining what needed to be done in Update 2 the amount of work needed to actually finish stuff is a bit longer than fits in the list above.

Content still left:

  • Random healing item drops
  • Sound effects for movement, damage etc for cyborg enemies
  • Many ambient sounds for the Cyberskull Factory
  • Proper graphics for many key features of the Cyberskull Factory and fire area
  • More lighting for Cyberskull Factory since it's really dark
  • Most of the enemy placement in the Cyberskull Factory
  • Support code for ambient sound areas

Fixes still left:

  • Fix camera looking in wrong spot after zone transition
  • New movement jank caused by fixes to old movement jank
  • Anything else we can find after a full playtest
